Paige and I began our session with a warm-up activity focusing on sixth-grade math skills. Paige had difficulty identifying the tenths place in a decimal. We then reviewed the definition of statistics. I prompted Paige with questions and she identified if the question was a statistical question or not. This activity will prepare her for beginning Chapter 9.
Paige and I began our session with a warm-up activity - focusing on sixth-grade math skills. Paige then practiced her play to prepare her for Thursday. Paige is Darth Vader, Peppa Pig, and a prop helper. I then introduced Paige to the definition of statistics (the science of collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data and the definition of a statistical question (one for which you do not expect to get a single answer). I then gave Paige scenarios and Paige identified if they were statistical or not.
Paige and I began our session with a ten-question math warm-up – reviewing 6th grade skills. Paige and I then practiced her skit for acting class. This was fun! Paige is going to do awesome. Lastly, Paige began taking notes from her online textbook, ‘History Alive!’ for her history project.
