Atticus and I reviewed last night's homework and completed a few problems that he struggled with together. Then, we continued working on our current lesson on how to analyze the relationships between dependent and independent variables using tables, graphs, and equations. Together, we wrote equations to model given situations, completed tables, and graphed the ordered pairs on coordinate planes. Atticus was assigned the lesson's test review questions for homework.
Today, Atticus completed researching and notating the functions of the different parts of the eye. He viewed part of a video diagramming the parts of the eye and how each functions.
This morning, Atticus and I completed the lesson on using patterns in tables to write equations that relate independent and dependent variables. Atticus looked for patterns to determine rules, wrote equations to represent the patterns, and completed the tables as well as applied these skills to real-world scenarios. Then, Atticus took the lesson's quick quiz and scored 90%. For homework, he was assigned unit test review questions on dependent and independent variables and using patterns to write and solve equations.
As Atticus has received no formal study of education, we are for this week studying what poetry is and how poetic devices provide meaning. I first on the board defined poetry and its purpose.Next,I provided instruction on common poetic devices: rhythm, rhyme, metaphor , and simile. We discussed examples of metaphor and simile and identified the things compared. After noting the purpose of stanzas we read and discussed the poem,"Trees.". Atticus identified the stanzas and the pervasive personifications, as well as they rhyme scheme. We then began examining the poem"Barter" which I assigned for homework l.
Atticus began class with a jump rope warmup. Next, he partook in a 5-minute jog around the perimeter of the playground. Then, Atticus participated in stretching exercises followed by a fun, competitive game of badminton. Lastly, he practiced his soccer passing and trapping skills.
