America Mobilizes for WWI
Lesson Outline
Today we focused on how America mobilized for WWI. It was not an easy decision for President Woodrow Wilson to send troops overseas to Europe in 1917 to fight on the side of the Allies, against Germany and the Central Powers. We reviewed why this happened and discussed what was involved in mobilizing American troops to fight in such a large scale, mechanized and modern war overseas.

Current Events
Lesson Outline
Today's update on injured Buffalo Bills player Demar Hamlin is that he's still in the hospital, but may be released to go home soon. We also looked at a war game simulation of a possible conflict. How can authorities be prepared and how might the whole thing be avoided? We'll then looked at how Europe is experiencing summer temperatures in the wintertime. This could be good news for energy costs, but the ski slopes are closed and there are concerns about potential long-term trends.

Topic 7 Polynomials and Factoring
Lesson Outline
Cameron finished the test on Multiplying and Factoring Polynomials. Then I introduced Lesson 7-5 Factoring – We learned that when a trinomial is in the form x2 + bx + c, the factors are found by identifying a pair of integer factors of c that have a sum of b and then using the factors to write binomials that have a product equal to the trinomial.
Assignment: Complete the assigned problems for homework.
