In today's class, Cameron worked on an activity that covered what we learned on cellular respiration. This included a guided reading passage where Cameron reads a passage and then answers questions based off of what he read. This helps with further recall and retention of material. He also finished his activity on the characteristics of life from yesterday.

Cameron was aware that his 5th period Spanish class would be an additional World History class today. He was in a car when I called him for 5th period class and it seemed difficult for him to concentrate. It was difficult for me to see and hear Cameron from the car and he asked if we could forfeit the class.

During our 2nd period World History class,I shared that instead o 5th period Spanish, Cameron would have another period of history with me. By the time I was able o get a hold of him. Cameron appeared to be in the back seat of a car. I did not have good visual or audio of Cameron, but he said he could see and hear me. There were interruptions from an adult male voice up in the front on the car. It sounded like they had arrived somewhere and it was difficult for Cameron to pay attention. Cameron then asked if he could be excused and I acquiesced as it didn't seem like he had control of the situation. This was supposed to be Cameron's Spanish period, so I'm glad we had World History class earlier today.
Today we reviewed the origins of European Imperialism. European imperialism refers to the process of European nations building overseas empires outside of Europe. This process began with the first voyage of Columbus in 1492 and ended in the middle of the 20th century with the process of decolonization. Imperialism was a major factor in European and world history for about five centuries and still influences world culture to this day. Many of the nations that exist in the world today, including the United States of America, were once former European colonies. We discussed when competition and rivalries can be positively motivating to when they can become detrimental. During our 2nd session later today we will observe imperialism's impact on Africa after the Berlin Conference. We will also look at America's role in the Age of Imperialism.
In today's class, we discussed cellular respiration, including aerobic and anaerobic respiration and the various steps involved in each process. Cameron did very well with the new challenging information.
I subbed for Cameron's business class today. His teacher left him sub plans. The topic of the questions was customer service and his organization's staffing elements. He answered the questions in a Word document, and we discussed how he should answer.
