We discovered that as we age, we can no longer hear high-pitched noises. The natural aging of cells in our ears is a process called presbycusis. We learned that everyone can hear 8000 Hz or cycles per second. The frequency 17,400 Hz is only heard by teenagers. Some retail stores install devices that emit this frequency to keep teens from loitering outside their stores.
Today we finished cleaning out PJ's room and he was permitted to select a book of his choice out of the library. PJ shared his summer plans with me. He's excited to go to Europe and, of course, Michigan (Mullett Lake). He asked if he could spend some time with a classmate once done and was permitted when approved by his classmate's teacher.
PJ and I spent the period talking about his summer plans.
He told me he is going to Italy for 2 weeks and then going to Michigan.
It has been a pleasure working with him this year and seeing the growth he has made.

PJ analyzed a primary source, - an advertisement, this morning with me in class. He analyzed a cartoon depicting a change in traditional households. We discussed how, that by the 1950's, WWII economy had shifted away from the production of military goods to that of consumer goods and changes in technology, allowed televisions to become less expensive. The glut of TV's and the introduction of TV dinners had resulted in lures away from traditional dinner tables. PJ showed insightful analysis when analyzing the cartoon and had a lot to say about the changing role of women after noting that some of the jobs of soldiers had been taken away by women while they were overseas. It was a productive discussion. We started clearing out his room at the very end of the session.
