We are studying not only correct punctuation usage, but also how punctuation can enhance meaning. We first addressed JP's questions on the AP MCQ's on this subject dealing with the proper use of parenthesis. I then provided grammatical instruction on the proper use of commas, semicolons, colons, and dashes. We further addressed how these forms of punctuation can be used to create emphasis or to focus a reader by slowing down the rhythm of a passage. Last, JP completed grammar and punctuation exercises. JP displayed mastery over the subject matter.
Examine how different energy forms are suited for specific use. Discuss how energy efficiency refers to both the efficiency of the process to obtain and the process that converts. Introduce the EROEI formula which determines the energy returns on each invested. Complete s sample problem. Complete finding the right energy source for a job, examine why a high efficiency energy use may not be as high due to high energy use to obtain the fuel.
Today JPaul had a quiz on Logarithms. He worked hard the entire class. He asked me a few questions while he worked to clarify the problem. We will go through the problems and grade it tomorrow.

We first completed reviewing those AP practice MCQ's on introductions and conclusions wherein JP had some difficulty. We practiced locating the main idea of a passage . Then we examined the essays assigned for homework. JP identified the techniques the writers employed in the introduction and conclusion and further identified the writers' use of modifiers and qualifiers. Last,I provided instruction on how to vary sentence beginnings using a simple direct sentence, subordinate conjunctions ,and participles.
Discuss patterns of energy use. Outline non renewable sources as fossil fuels and nuclear fuel. Discuss the pro's and con's of each category, include coal, oil, methane, wood and peat in the discussion. View charts of worldwide patterns of energy use. Show the chart of energy consumption in the US compared to worldwide.
