Each time we meet, Michael's accuracy improves. He can analyze the graphs and charts very well. He is also able to correctly interpret the experiments and arguments of opposing scientists. His comprehension of these passages has certainly increased.
Michael and I completed a full science practice test together today.
I timed him on each section (allowing 6 minutes per each of the 6 sections).

Michael completed an ACT science practice test that I assigned for homework: pages 640. He scored 34 out of 40.
We reviewed his incorrect answers and he now understands his mistakes.
Next, we worked on a new science practice test (passages 3,4,5,6 on pages 514-521).

Michael completed his ACT science practice test that I assigned for homework! He did GREAT! He only got 2 questions wrong out of 40!
We reviewed the 2 incorrect questions and worked on a new science practice test (passages 1 and 2 on pages 509-512). Lastly, we worked on passage 6 (page 930-931) since passage 6 is the most challenging. Michael scored 100% on that passage.
I assigned Michael passages 1-5 (page 920) for homework. We will review his work during our session tomorrow, June 1st at 2pm.
We started by reviewing the operations of matrix addition and matrix multiplication. We then worked problems 38 through 60 in Practice Exam 2 of the Princeton Review ACT Premium Prep 2022 book.
Michael completed his assigned homework: a timed ACT science practice test. He was able to complete five out of the six science passages. Here are the results...

Michael and I reviewed his incorrect answers as well as passage 6.
Lastly, we reviewed passage 6 of a different science test since passage 6 is the most difficult passage within the science test. Michael scored 5 out of 6 for that particular passage.
Michael's comprehension of the passages and format of the questions increases each time we meet. I have already seen much improvement.
I assigned science practice test #4 (pages 640-651) for homework and asked that Michael once again time himself while taking that test. We plan to meet again next week. Time and day to be determined.

Michael was on time, attentive, receptive, and on task during the entire session.
Michael completed four science passages since we last met. He got almost all questions correct in the first two passages but incorrectly solved roughly 40% of the questions in the last two passages. The last passage he did not fully complete.
Note: the passages get progressively more challenging.
We reviewed a total of six science passages today.
We worked on how to interpret various charts and graphs. Michael quickly picked up these methods after my explanation.
I have already seen improvement in his interpretation of these passages!
Megan ordered an ACT book for Michael to keep, and he was given it today to take home. I assigned him the following homework: science practice test (pages 80-91). Michael should complete this practice test using a timer (35 minutes). Michael was on time and on track the entire session. He is a great student...very receptive and willing to learn!
