Organizing thoughts/sequencing
Lesson Outline
Libby assisted me in watering the plants outside this morning as they were very dry following the three day spring break. She had a bit of difficulty separating from mom this morning but after a few hugs, Libby adjusted to her daily schedule. She then drew a picture using her new colored pencils. It was a Christmas story and Libby was prompted to organize her thoughts and sequence the events she drew. She is looking forward to having her cousins, Finn and Isla, visit the school later.

Lesson Outline
At Libby's request, we went outside for today's session. We sequenced the alphabet while bouncing a ball. I conducted visual, auditory, and blending drills. I am very pleased with Libby's improvement with the blending (decoding) drill. We reviewed regular spelling (CVC with all short vowels) and irregular spelling words (UFLI scope and sequence list, in order). Libby read a decodable book by FlyLeaf Publishing. To conclude, I read the remainder of "Mercy Watson, Princess in Disguise."
