Continuation of earlier science lesson

Christopher read a passage about trade routes of the ancient world, with a focus on the Silk Road. We reviewed subject-specific terminology (e.g., merchants), and Christopher underlined the most important details in the passage. He was shown a map and, using a pencil, traced the routes through the Middle East and Africa that connected Asian trade with Europe through the Mediterranean Sea. Additionally, he answered open-ended questions and completed two hands-on activities to reinforce and consolidate newly acquired learning gains using different modalities to help concretize his skills. The work is displayed on Christopher’s bulletin board.

Today's lesson focused on Ancient languages. Ben reviewed material about the Sumerian alphabet and how Sumerian culture continued through several periods of different leadership. Ben participated in discussing who received credit for many Sumerian developments and acomplishments.
