Jack was sent home due to actions against teachers today. I used the time waiting for his nanny to do the Character Ed lesson hoping to keep him calm and think. He was calm until he left.
Read different expository writings and decide which style it is. Compare and contrast adjectives and adverbs, making a T chart of examples of each. Find figurative language in various fiction passages.
Jack had a good session today. He worked on ER, AIR, AR, IRE, EAR, and OR. ER continues to be the most challenging for him at the word level. All other vocalic R in phrases. He is using vocalic R with 60-70% accuracy.
Go over cause and effect, compare and contrast, and problem and solution styles of writing with examples. Go over grammar using conjunctions (and, but, or) and how they connect shorter thoughts. Read fables and decide on the morals they are teaching.
