During today's last class session with David, I showed him a few videos of Humanoid Robots which use AI and discussed the possible pros and cons of this emerging trend on future American culture.
It has been very rewarding having David as a student this year at Batt and I extend my best wishes to him for success, enjoyment and good health as he continues his high school career.
Vietnam War documentary video: Discussion of post WW2 changes in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh and spread of Communism. U. S. involvement and related war protests. During today's second session on the Vietnam War, David was able to gain a clear perspective on the complexity of the Vietnam conflict due to French control and the opposing Communistic movement led by Ho Chi Minh. He also learned how and why the U.S. became involved in this war against the justifiable protests of citizens who
rejected the "unnecessary loss of life" and military operations against people who were not a direct enemy or threat to the U.S.

During today's session, I reviewed the results of the WH Final Exam with David. He was given a comprehensive review for this test as well as 2 days to complete and access to all of the course notes. Although David is very bright, pleasant, and wise beyond his years, he still did not perform at the expected (and hoped for) high level that he is capable of. He admitted to not studying as much was necessary to score higher, and I believe that this discussion was an important "life lesson" to give more effort in order to achieve at a much higher level.

During today's session, David reviewed several key topics with me for the WH Final Exam. I assisted him in locating important written notes recorded early in this course in addition to the digital notes that we transitioned to back in October. He worked diligently on Part 1 of the Final Exam during the latter half of class today.

Today's session on the establishment and activities of NATO was the last new topic for this World History class. David was very attentive and understands the importance of beginning to review and prepare for the Final Exam on Thursday 5/15.

Admission of N.Korea and S. Korea to the U.N. in the 1990's. Mission and structure of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization).
