WADE testing for Wilson Evaluation END OF YEAR 6.2019
Lesson Outline
Dylan continued his WADE testing for an end of the year evaluation of his progress. Today Dylan finished the spelling of real words. He completed the spelling of sight words. He wrote two dictation sentences to check for spelling and punctuation. Dylan continues to have difficulty with b/d, but less frequently. The reversal that seems most difficult now is p/q/g. Dylan has habits that cause him to make a q when he means to write p. The chicken letter that goes with the "q" is "u." Dylan knows this rule. He forgets to apply the interventions that he knows. During a test it is a time when less coaching is allowed by the instructor. I compare Dylan's performance to his test in January. He has made improvement in almost every area. We completed the session by reading two chapters in Because of Winn Dixie. We discussed the vocabulary words: vermin, typhoid, and lozenge. We looked up the word typhoid and studied how this disease is transmitted, and how dangerous it was during the Civil War because antibiotics had not been discovered yet.
