Lesson Outline
Danny began with a lesson on cvc-e syllable words. We discussed the consonant-vowel-consonant combination with a silent e and how to identify it in a word. When given a word with this combination, he clapped out the syllables, circled the vowels, and then marked up the cvc-e combination. He did a cut and paste word sort with short u, long u (cvc-e), ui, and oo. He cut out words with these sounds and then pasted them under the correct heading. He also wrote each word under the correct sound. He read a story in his reading book called "Wolf, Wolf" . This is the same story as "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" but told from the wolf's perspective. After reading, he compared and contrasted the two stories.
