Class began with a review and discussion of relevant news stories. Next, we briefly summarized the chapter on civil rights. We then began our initial review of Chapter 7, Political Parties and Interest Groups. We discussed the evolution, purpose, and status of U.S. political parties. We reviewed and discussed polarization and realignment shifts in U.S. politics. GT was interested and involved throughout the class.
