Persian women had numerous rights equal to men, underground ice caves were used to store food. Persian military was effective due to travel and uniforms that involved lighter weight. Hanging gardens/botanical landscapes were a significant feature n Persian culture along with elaborate rugs. End of Persian Empire due to defeat/takeover by Alexander the Great (Macedonia)

Although Aiden had MAPP testing earlier today, this History class was not affected and we were able to cover numerous important details about the achievements and characteristics of the Persian Empire. Aiden is well read on this significant period approximately 550 B.C. to 300 B.C.
Assyrian Empire, Intro. to the Persian Empire. Assyrian Empire collapse in 600 B.C. due to overexpansion. Rise of Persian Empire in 650 B.C. and decline in 330 B.C. Persians diverse mix of various cultures/geographical regions. Persians ruled by Kings. Cyrus the Great 630 B.C. was a prominent King of Persia and conqueror. Persian Empire extended from Western Asia, Arabian peninsula, Turkey, North Africa, and partially into Greece.
