Lesson Outline
Avery practiced the correct scissor grip and how to cut paper. She benefits from someone holding both sides of the paper when she is cutting. She was very pleased with her new skill. Continued practice would be beneficial. We worked on the shapes circle, square and triangle. Avery enjoyed a cut and paste, sorting activity. Given pictures of everyday objects that were squares and circles, Avery was asked to draw a circle around the circle shaped pictures and a square around the square shaped objects. Avery practiced tracing and writing Ee. She was able to write an E independently and so now can write the first three letters of her name. Avery also practiced counting and one-to-one correspondence. Given a picture of a playground, Avery correctly counted the different objects shown. We took a brief break, during which time Avery and I hit a balloon back and forth to each other. Avery was engaged and cooperative.
