Kaniyah and I started the session playing Alphabet Bingo, voicing all letter sounds. I reviewed vowels; Kaniyah wanted to write them on the dry erase board. Using sound deck, I created CVC words (nonsense and real), which Kaniyah read and then wrote on the board. I dictated simple sentences that Kaniyah wrote on the board with correct capitalization and punctuation. We played Jenga sight words (some of the words were too hard; I explained to her that many were sixth-grade words!). We finished the session reading Frog and Toad. Great session!
