Today we began discussing Industrial and Organizational Psychology. We identified parts for each of the elements and the work of psychologist in the field. Four major areas of work are, academia, government, business, and consulting. Most psychologists have either a Master's degree or doctorate. Much of their work is in research, and evaluation. This field originated in the early 20th century. Prominent psychologists in the field are James Cattell, Hugo Munsterberg, Walter Dill Scott, and Lillian Gilbreth to name a few.

Productive session. We began exploring the elements of Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the criteria for the psychologist. I explained psychologist are usually not practicing therapist in the sense of therapy but rather academia, government, businesses, and consulting firms. Abby was able to break down the terms and provide examples.
