SKYPE; Photosynthesis and chloroplasts -
GT and I reviewed the parts of the cell, and cell theory. We then discussed how energy is synthesized in the cells, and this starts with the animal cell. We discussed how plants process light and convert this energy into usable energy for the production of the plant. We discussed the chemical equation of photosynthesis and respiration and how a plant switches from one process to the other in the absence of ultra-violet light. We examined how these equations are balanced and the complete opposite of the each other. I explained the internal structure of the chloroplasts and how the light dependent part of photosynthesis excites electrons into a high energy state that converts the light into another pigment that is able to be absorbed during the light in-dependent part of photosynthesis.
