Process Paper and Definition Paper
Lesson Outline
Checked progress on "How to" process paper. Vlad was asked to meet with Marcel to learn: (1) how to set up a split screen power point presentation; (2) how to add videos to presentation; and (3) how to add music. Currently, Vlad has not found an opportunity to set up his meeting with Marcel. Ask Vlad to work on setting up that meeting and learn (1), (2), and (3). Focused our time on Vlad's definition paper. Decision made to use a paragraph to analyze Wikipedia definition of "communism" in order to clarify Wikipedia's definition, adding the element that the definition is defining "communism" in its "pure" or "ideological" form. We moved on to the transition to the first example of a "communist" country: North Korea. Developed the discussion that the political scene of North Korea is too complex to simply be labeled as "communist." Went on to a discussion of China, as also politically too complex to be labeled as "communist." Vlad to complete those two discussions, and review his discussion of Russia as a "communist" country. Finally, Vlad to finalize his concluding paragraph.
