Biology:
Mitosis and Meiosis -
After reviewing the process of mitosis, we used a microscope to examine cells that were in the different phases. We used the root tip slide, as this is the part of a plant that is in constant growth, which translates to mitosis. GT was then challenged with finding the four stages of mitosis from a slide of a fish blastocyst. We then discussed the process of meiosis, which is used to make gametes (eggs and sperm) and result in cells that have a haploid number of chromosomes. GT was challenged with identifying the phase of mitosis or meiosis from a list of descriptions. Homework; Be prepared to be tested on mitosis and meiosis on Friday.
