Lesson Topic
Forces - Cause and Effect
Lesson Outline
Today, we performed a STEM hands-on experiment, exploring force as a push or pull energy that make something move. We used a game board, blocks, masking tape, two plastic bottles (one full and 1 empty), and an empty cereal box to explore what gives more push. We wanted to find out if an empty bottle has more or less push than a full bottle. Jonathan made predictions and had fun making a ramp using the folded game board and blocks, and rolling first an empty bottle and then the full bottle down the ramp. Jonathan shared his observations about how the push felt and predictions about what would happen if we rolled the empty bottle down the ramp if a cereal box was placed in front of the ramp. He had a fun time exploring different examples of push and pull energy in this interactive science activity.
