Lesson Outline
Today, Jonathan learned about force and how we can change the path of an object using force. I used the example of hitting a ball with a bat and how it changes the ball's path. The bat pushes the bowl, and the ball moves away from the bat. We also continued to explore this week's question of why cars have steering wheels. We discussed how the steering wheel in a car changes the path of a car, and that when you turn the wheel, force is applied. The steering wheel sends the force to the car's wheels, which makes the wheels move, and the car's path changes as a reault. Jonathan used force to propel, or push, his chair around the room, and he had a blast doing so. To end the session, Jonathan worked on questions in his Daily Science Student Practice book.
