Measures of Central Tendency
Lesson Outline
Jeron had a lesson and questions on measures of central tendency. We looked at box and whisker plots, which show the median and upper and lower quartiles of a set of data. The median splits the data into an upper and lower range. The lower quartile is the median of the lower range, and the upper quartile is the median of the upper range. if a Box and Whisker Plot is symmetrical, then the standard deviation is the best measure of the spread of data. If it is asymmetrical, then the Interquartile Range (IQR) is the best measure. I took notes from the lesson for Jeron, and encouraged him to do the same as he goes through the lessons.
