Today we began with our daily language review. We looked at sentence fragments and decided if they should have a period at the end or not. Next, using the source poem entitled, Sometimes, we worked in Jonathan’s iReady textbook. We found words in the text that describe how the character is feeling and then used these words to formulate a conclusion as to how the character is feeling. Jonathan took his spelling test for his select words from our novel, The Knight at Dawn. Jonathan scored a 100%! As we read the final two chapters of our book, we made predictions and also made inferences as to why Annie kept saying that she hoped she picked the right book! We also discussed the meanings of dismounted and ancient. Jonathan completed his reader’s response activity questions. He also worked through an ABC order task using words from the book. We also read some similes from the book and discussed the meanings. Finally, we ended our day with Fun Friday! We practiced the reading skill of sequencing through a fun board game activity called Sequence Builders. The game tasked us with reading a story broken into four cards and we had to put them in the correct sequential order.
