We began reading Sophia's novel selection: Bludnell's What I Saw and How I Lied. As we read, Sophia identified foreshadowing, allusion, and researched historical setting. we also analyzed the effect of the author's use of fragments, questions, and descriptive detail.

Sophia was on task and focused on the text. Her interpretations demonstrated an insightful analysis of the complexity of character development. The more difficult concept for her was grasping historical context so we used Google image search, for example to 'see' Frank Sinatra.
