Lesson Outline
Christopher happily announced "I'm here" as he re-entered his room upon teacher transition. Upon hearing that we had "some new, fun things to do today" Christopher requested some preferred familiar activities. This allowed for discussion into self reflection regarding "the thoughts we think and then how we feel when we think them." This afforded expansion into new vocabulary and concepts centered around this topic. Additional tasks focused on sequential linear sentence organization with emphasis on use of cohesive ties that support your communication partner's understanding and perspective. Familiar cue supports and scaffolding strategies were facilitative. Creative movement paired with narrative/story generation allowed for a strong active learning opportunity this session to enhance linguistic organization and attention.
