As Matthew indicated he is not in the habit of preparing outlines before writing a paper, today we discussed the benefits of an outline and commenced the preparation of an outline for his history paper on Buddhism. First, we examined Armstrong's book on Buddha and highlighted areas and ideas to incorporate into the paper. Then, we discussed a topic sentence and the contents of an introductory paragraph . Matthew then drafted some outline notes and sentences for his introduction as well as an outline for his next paragraph on the early life of Siddhatta. We next examined Buddhist principles and practices as explained in the Armstrong book ,and Matthew noted in his outline where he could locate the information for his next paragraphs. Last, we reviewed the assignment's details to ensure we had addressed all of the terms and concepts required by the history teacher. I have asked Matthew to prepare a draft of the paper so that we can review and revise it next Monday. The outline should provide the organizational guide for the draft .
