Lesson Outline
We reviewed vocabulary of plants, plant parts, and functions that we've focused on in prior lessons and completed a chart and picture detailing the plant parts and what functions they serve to helping the plant grow and flourish. We also began a preliminary discussion of photosynthesis and how essential it is for life on Earth. Photosynthesis was explained as the process in which green plants use sunlight to make their own food. Jonathan learned that green plants use light energy from the sun to change water and carbon dioxide into oxygen and nutrients called sugar. Jonathan was also introduced the topic of bees and pollination which we will examine in later sessions.
