We had a busy Friday session! First, we worked diligently on our nonfiction text features project. Jonathan used the three sections of his table of contents as source to draw three illustrations to accompany each page of his writing. He then made bold words on each page to coincide with his illustrations. He drew himself playing tennis (something about himself), playing Mario Odyssey (one of his favorite games), and himself as a paleontologist (his big dream). We made a special pocket to hold the illustrations. He used markers to accent each piece. We then assembled all of the pieces for this project on colored card stock to put it all together. It turned out awesome! For literature, we read chapters 9 & 10 in our novel, Pirates Past Dawn. We finally learned how the enchantress Morgan le Fay has been helping the children! As we wrapped up our session, Jonathan completed a crossword puzzle to recap the events of these chapters.
