How the synapse functions to secrete neurotransmitters, and how these chemicals stimulate the next neuron to fire and transmit an impulse was explained and viewed on a video. The chemistry of ions was brought up at this time so that the transmission of the nerve impulse through the neuron by depolarization and re-polarization could be looked at next.
