Hi Judie: I have been thinking about this SO much. Here's the thing: we are dealing with a situation where Katya just can't/won't attend classes. There is much empathy as I know she is suffering and contending with intense issues. Just today I contacted Katya for class at 12:30 - an hour early. She acknowledged that we had a 1:30pm class and 30 minutes later, she emails me that she is too tired for class. Since March 17, Katya has been virtually unavailable for class. Even in February, Katya wasn't up to attending class. A good deal of U.S. Govt. took place while Katya painted that gorgeous mural in the art room for much of February....or class was altogether forfeited because she felt unwell. I truly believe Katya intends to be present for class, but she just can't do it right now. This situation has become very challenging for me. Katya is my first class tomorrow and my last class on Friday and I have profound reservations about her attendance at both of them. I just keep thinking about that definition of insanity - when one keeps doing the same thing, but expecting a different result. We keep scheduling Katya for classes, expecting/hoping for her attendance, but it results in another absence. How may we alter this cycle? Something needs to change for the (approximately) 20 remaining days I am scheduled to meet with Katya. I need help from you and Nicole.
