poetry, prefix review, 'Al Capone Shines My Shoes'
Lesson Outline
An etheree is ten line poem, the first line having one syllable and each succeeding line adding a syllable. Zeta and I looked at examples of etheree poetry. She did very well creating an original etheree. We reviewed what onomatopoeia is and brainstormed examples. The prefixes de-, post-, trans- and sub- were reviewed. Zeta did well determining the meaning of words that contained these prefixes. She used the words appropriately in sentences. We read the next chapter of 'Al Capone Shines My Shoes'. Zeta answered questions related to characterization, theme and cause and effect.
