Lesson Outline
We reviewed idioms. Zeta did well matching idioms with their meaning and determining the meaning of idioms from the context clues. She practiced typing the home row and the top letter row before learning the keys/letters v and m on the bottom letter row. Zeta learned how to write a haiku. We read examples and then Zeta created two haikus. We talked about using more specific nouns, when writing, to make the writing more varied and interesting. Zeta was asked to discriminate between general and more detailed nouns. Given a general noun, Zeta brainstormed corresponding specific nouns. Zeta enjoyed spending some time working on 'Reading Eggspress' where she practiced, identifying the author's point of view, making inferences, reading comprehension and utilizing context clues.
