TEAMS: - Dragons and dominant traits -
Continuing with the Geniventure game. Yanuell was asked to create dragons having the traits needed to defeat an evil empire. Using chromosome maps, Yanuell was asked to determine which traits were present, which were dominant, and which were desired. The tasks became more difficult as the number of traits increased. He was rewarded by creating a chromosome map, for a desired dragon, in the fewest number of steps. This exercise illustrates how different chromosomes relate to different traits. He was also shown how sometimes a trait depends on several different alleles and introduced to co-dominant chromosomes.
