TEAMS: Taxonomy / Animals - Fish -
GT and I reviewed the characteristics of Chordates, and the specific requirements of Fish: cold blood, oviparous, scales, gills, no eggshells. There are three classes of Fish: Agnatha (jawless), Chondrichthyes (cartilaginous), and Osteichthyes (boney). We watched a dissection of a Perch, concentrating on the digestive system, gills, liver, heart, brain, and reproductive organs. We watched short videos highlighting different fish species: mudskipper, sailfish, flying fish, and the sarcastic fringe head. We briefly discussed climbing goby, climbing very high waterfalls and moving from salt water to freshwater.
