TEAMS: Taxonomy / Animals - Reptiles
Today was all about Reptiles, and cold blood. We discussed the characteristics of reptiles in general and then Tuatara, Crocodillia, Squamata (lizards and snakes) and Testudines (turtle and tortoises). We examined a turtle skeleton, and shared what we have each experienced in watching tortoises. I reminded GT, on how the Galapagos tortoise was important in revealing the truth about natural selection to Charles Darwin. We watched the BBC film: ‘In Cold Blood’, where Richard Attenborough describes how these remarkable creatures keep warm in a cold world.
