I began with a review of the sound deck with visual and blending drills. The graphemes for the visual exercise were the same as the last session. For the blending board, I focused on the vowel team ea and vowel-consonant-e words (bean, mean, clean, clon, clone, drone, stone.) I introduced the irregular word "said" as a new concept. Wyatt read the word, and we discussed the irregular part of the word (ai). He wrote the word ten times while verbalizing the spelling. He read a chapter of a decodable book, "The Green Fern Zoo: Termites." His decoding was excellent today!
