Lesson Outline
Math – Jonathan practiced drawing shapes with different numbers of sides on arrays of dots. Then he practiced identifying shapes based on specific criteria. He practiced drawing cubes and identifying each side, each vertex, and the number of faces. Then he drew pictures of hexagons, squares, and triangles to determine the features.
Science – Jonathan watched a video on the scientific method. He learned that the scientific method begins by asking a question. The next step is to make a hypothesis which is using what you know to make a prediction. The third step is to perform an experiment which is done by gathering materials and testing all objects in exactly the same way to get accurate results. The results or data from the experiment is information that is recorded on what you observed. Next you determine if your hypothesis was correct by drawing a conclusion based on your results. The last step is to share what you’ve learned.
