Lesson Outline
Chris was "logged on" and "waiting " in the virtual waiting room by 7:15 this morning. The connection subsequently commenced at 7:30, easier than scheduled. Chris was not within the screen view as the link connected. He appeared a few moments later and presented with an extremely melancholy affect. He shared that he was very sad, but that he didn't even know how he was feeling today. He did express "worry" regarding his Dad and his health. Conversation was minimal today as he shared only small insights into what he was thinking. Multiple strategies
(familiar social thinking techniques, familiar scaffolding and self reflection strategies as well as encouragement to engage in varied movement based sequences) were employed to assist
Chris this session. Throughout the session, he would remove himself from direct view and respond to comments and questions with minimal verbalizations. The session closed as Chris asked for quiet time approximately 50 minutes into the session . This was respected today.

Lesson Comments
Such a difficult session as Chris was incredibly somber, angry and frustrated. He shared only snippets of what was gnawing at him. Worry about his dad getting sick, anger at "things at home." He shared that " you don't want to know what's going on Ms. Lynne. " Nothing can help etc....
He shared that he isn't responding to the phone or messages and that he "doesn't even know how he feels." He clearly expressed anger as he would pull away from the screen and begin "banging" on things adjacent to his desk area, he would re appear and show me what he was dong... He was reaching out so much for help and as I extended options for him to share he would pull back...
He was already anticipating the virtual school day and was upset by that as well.... Such a rough time for him.....
