Science-Earth's Changing Surface
Lesson Outline
Changing Earth’s Surface – Max and I talked about and observed examples of coastal erosion from longshore currents and the effects of acidic rainwater that seeps beneath Earth’s surface eroding limestone forming features such as caves, stacks and arches. Then we looked at The Twelve Apostles which is a collection of limestone stacks off the shore of Port Campbell National Park, by the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. Then he discovered how wind erosion cuts and polishes rock through abrasion. We looked at unusual landforms created by wind erosion such as the Painted Desert of Arizona and Hoodoos in Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah.
