Session Date
Lesson Topic
The sun, the moon, and the stars change position
Lesson Outline
Kellan and I began our session with discussing his new comic book. We then began a science lesson on the topic - the sun, the moon, and the stars change position in the sky in ways that are fun to watch and predict. Kellan made a prediction to the question, how could the statue's shadow move? He stated that if we move the statue ourselves, it will move. By completing this activity ourself, using a giraffe statue, tape, paper, and pencil; Kellan learned that the sun moves across the sky. Kellan traced the statue and then twenty minutes later, we observed the statue, noticing that the shadow moved.
