Lesson Outline
In preparation for Max completing a poetry assessment , I placed on the board and discussed the terms: rhyme ,rhythm, alliteration, and imagery as techniques for the creation of meaning. I further noted the importance of noting the use of punctuation.We then looked at the first lines of the assigned poem, and Max properly noted that the entire poem was written in rhyming couplets. After Max read the remainder of the poem ,he worked on the assessment questions . Where he had some difficulty , we together worked through some abstract metaphors . Max will complete his draft answers tomorrow which we will review before he hands in his poetry assessment.
