Lesson Outline
Richard was greeted in the cafeteria on time by SLP. He was happy upon transition. We started the session quickly reviewing date/days of week. He continues to get stronger with this skill. We recalled events from the weekend while using sequencing, executive functioning, and word finding skills. In efforts to target rate of speech and /s/ in conversation, we did a semi structured task. We did an articulation task (structured) and applied the word to Pokemon to make it more interesting to Richard. He LOVED this activity and it targeted exactly the goals needed. Richard's /s/ sounded better requiring less cues than last week. Articulatory contact was considered reduced however improved with prompting. Rate of speech continues to be an area for growth for Richard as he demonstrates difficulty carrying over the slower rate of speech when discussing a topic of interest. We're continuing to expand skills in unstructured tasks however self monitoring is not there at this point. Overall, today was a good session and Richard was focused and compliant.
