Lesson Outline
Richard was greeted in the lobby. He transitioned well to his classroom. Richard made a "mailbox" for outside of his classroom. Our first task was to write Ms. Elise back what he wants for lunch. He said he didn't want to go over the restaurant menu, so he chose a cheese quesadilla and yogurt. Following that task, he quickly went over the date/day of week. He did well with this task. Richard continues to demonstrate the need for minimal cues to determine month/day of week. To target /s/ and rate of speech in a structured task, we did the structured /s/ while relating it to a desired topic (Pokemon). Ricahrd's self monitoring/correcting was significantly better today during this task. He was over articulating his /s/ sounds. He reported, "It's hard to say my /s/ sounds good because I have a loose tooth". He stated he will be getting braces in the future. He produced /s/ with ~80% accuracy during this task. We worked on rate of speech and /s/ in conversation while talking about the fair. He enjoyed this activity. We did sequencing, word finding and vocabulary enhancement as well. We continue to target social skills and interactions with peers and teachers as much as possible as this would be beneficial for Richard. I know they are also targeting this with his other SLP (Andrea).
