Lesson Topic
Math, read alouds, science - sink or float
Lesson Outline
Jack and I began our session with completing two lessons in his math workbook, focusing on sums, 2-D shapes and plane shapes, counting, how many in all, greater than, and making the sum of seven. I then read aloud, "Dog on a Frog". Jack illustrated and wrote a sentence describing where the frog sits, 'The frog will sit on beach chairs'. We then listened to the story, "Baby Animals". Jack then read the story himself using the pictures to assist him and completed a comprehension quiz on the story. We ended our session with science, finding objects and completing a 'Sink or Float?' sheet, predicting what will happen to the object and identifying what actually did occur. Jack seemed to enjoy our session. He was really excited with our hands-on science activity.
