Session Date
Lesson Topic
Read aloud, writing activity, science - five senses activity, bouncy egg
Lesson Outline
Jack and I began our session with discussing our bouncy egg experiment. Jack's egg cracked throughout the 24 hour waiting process. We will try our experiment again next week. We then watched a video of someone completing the experiment. We discussed what we could do differently and decided to use more vinegar than previously next week when trying our experiment out again. Jack then completed a five senses activity with popcorn, filling out how his senses reacted with the popcorn. Jack did very well with filling out his chart, using a word like rubber, describing how the popcorn feels. We then completed a writing activity, writing what occurred in the beginning, middle, and end in the story that he read with Ms. Emily, "Danny and the Dinosaur". Jack picked the story, "Behind the Wheel of a Stock Car" for me to read aloud. He then took a comprehension quiz and received a 100%. We ended our session with a riddle. Jack picked an item in the science lab (a blue cardboard box). He then shared his riddle with Ms. Emily and Will. Jack gave wonderful clues and Will was able to identify Jack's item.
