Lesson Outline
Richard arrived to school at 11:30 after a dentist apt. He was absent for half of the session. Although the lesson was limited, a lot of good material and goals were covered. Richard was in a good mood and happy to be at school. He stated he was hungry so he had a few French fries that he brought to hold him over until lunch in 30 mins. Richard reports he is usually "starving" later in the day - To start the session, we went over event/weekend recall while sequencing activities. Richard continues to improve with this, requiring less verbal cues and strategies. We went over the date/day of week on the October calendar. Richard's understanding of this orientation concept has significantly improved as well. Next, we did irregular and regular past tense in a structured task. Richard achieved 90% regular, and 60% irregular verb accuracy. We will continue to target these in structured tasks before moving to conversational level. In addition, possessives tend to be difficult as Richard will omit the -s at the end. Overall, it was a great session. I am proud of Richard's progress.
