Cabo read chapters 31-32 of A Thousand Splendid Suns. We discussed the author's use of metaphor to describe the relationship between Miriam and Laila. He then wrote a paragraph describing the theme of gender expectations, and how those expectations shape relationships, both across and within genders. Cabo then reviewed the SAT vocabulary introduced before the break. He took a review quiz applying the words in various types of sentences.
