Using Identities
Lesson Outline
We reviewed the identities that we've explored: the Pythagorean Identity, the Tangent Identity and the Cofunction Identities. Then we used the latter to find two different versions of the Pythagorean Identity. We used the graphing calculator to prove that the latter two were indeed valid identities. We also used the calculator to explore the relationship between the sine and cosine on the one hand and the cosecant and secant functions.

This was a Skype session and it was only marginally successful. We established the link with the help of my mobile phone. The Skype call was dropped four or five times and there were periods when the communications were spotty. I'm pretty sure the problem lay with Sophia attempting to receive the session via her mobile phone. Things seemed to be working fine at this end.
